Larry Chiang interrogates models, hollywood agents, celebrities and even sports mascots. Getting to the core of the truth is a fun game that interrogation expert, John Reid, taught him how to do. Chiang did not go into law enforcement but he does go to business conferences. Here are the lies told at TechCrunch 50

Little white lies. They are a part of business life.
A most critical skill-set I learned outside of business school was ‘How to Interrogate’. I learned from the best in the field, interrogation expert, John Reid.
He mainly coaches law enforcement and corporate security while I use his strategies to character compass people at conferences. Here are the nine lies told at TechCrunch 50.
-1- Harvard is doing a case study on my company.
-2- Ron Conway is advising our company. Roelof Botha has a term sheet that he’s running by WSGR.
-3- My business is a cut and paste of Digg, but for local municipal job updates for neighborhoods.
-4- I NEED to speak at sorority houses (for distribution).
-5- Its like Mint.com, except we are going to get to $1,000,000 in revenue because I read Chapter 6 of “What They Don’t Teach You At Stanford GSB”
-6- I can’t go the after party because I have to go post a new article.
-7- It’s a side business, but I never work on it during the day.
-8- Come visit me next time you come to Palo Alto.
-9- Can you speak at my conference. It is in Hawaii during the winter. We’d love to have you do a workshop. Yeah, its directed at Christine Lu, producer of Geeks on a Plane.
-10- I am buying your book on Amazon when I get back to the office
-11- We just hit profitablity. Really, we just hit profitability.
